J Ray Snaps up Dai Hung Subsea Gig
J Ray McDermott has won a deal for the subsea tie-in of a new wellhead platform to the existing floating production unit Dai Hung oilfield in Block 5-1 off Vietnam.Work is scheduled to take place from May to July 2011 using subsea support vessel Emerald Sea, which will be mobilised from Canada, according to a source close to the development.
Upstream has earlier learnt Vietsovpetro is undertaking the fabrication of the wellhead platform, which is part of the phase two development at Dai Hung. Up to eight surface wellheads will be placed on the new offshore structure.
Diamond Offshore’s semi-submersible rig Ocean General was drilling exploration and appraisal and development wells at the oilfield.
